Chemistry for a Sustainable World
We believe the chemical industry has a responsibility — and an opportunity — to lead the transition to a sustainable economy. Our net-zero roadmap backs that belief with concrete commitments and measurable progress.
Our 2040 Net-Zero Commitment
In 2024, Acme Chemicals announced science-based net-zero targets aligned with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C pathway. Our commitment covers Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across our entire value chain.
Backed by a $400M investment over 10 years, our decarbonization program focuses on process electrification, renewable energy, bio-based feedstock transition, and supplier engagement.
- 50% absolute Scope 1 & 2 reduction by 2030 (vs. 2019)
- 30% Scope 3 intensity reduction by 2030
- 100% renewable electricity across all plants by 2032
- Net-zero across all emissions by 2040

Bio-Based Portfolio
ZLD Facilities
Bio-Based Chemistry
35% of our portfolio now derives from renewable feedstocks including corn glucose, palm-free fatty acids, and wood-based glycerol. We're targeting 50% by 2030.
Circular Economy
Our closed-loop solvent recovery program recycles over 12,000 tons of spent solvents annually, returning them to production-grade purity.
Water Stewardship
Zero liquid discharge technology deployed at 8 facilities in water-stressed regions. Total water intensity reduced 41% since 2015.
Supplier Engagement
240 strategic suppliers enrolled in our Responsible Sourcing program, covering 80% of spend with verified environmental and social standards.
Green Chemistry by Design
We apply the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry to every new product development program. This means designing for reduced hazard, minimal waste, energy efficiency, and safer solvents from the start — not as an afterthought.
Our Green Chemistry Index rates all new product candidates against biodegradability, bioaccumulation potential, aquatic toxicity, and renewable content benchmarks before approval for development.
